Attention Huntsville Metro Homeowners. Your Garage is meant to store your car. This sole purpose can never be possible if you have turned your garage into junks' house or a playing ground for insects. If this is a simple description of your garage, note that our car will never be safe. Occasionally trying to shift stuffs in order to create a passage for your car is not just enough. Some junks are sharp-edged and can scratch your car or pierce your tire. To avoid this you must take out some time to effectively clean and arrange your garage. The following 6 steps should help you get it done easily.
Step 1: Remove everything from the garage and place them in the driveway. Categorize them as you are removing them. Place items such as tools, decorations, lawn equipment, etc the same place. If there is anything you will no longer need, you can sale it, submit for recycling or give it away.
Step 2: Prepare a recipe and use it to keep a clean garage. The items that should be included in your recipe are storage bins, shelving, cabinets, hooks, tool boxes, etc. If you must hang anything, secure them properly on ceiling studs or on the wall. Do not leave anything carelessly; they may render your work fruitless.
Step 3: Once you have taken everything out, sweep the floor of your garage and mop it. This should provide you with enough space for work and other activities which you can't do on a dirty floor.
Step 4: If your paint is growing old you will need to repaint the walls. It will make it look brighter and spacious. Painting the wall once again will also help you stay away from activities that may contaminate or make the garage dirty soon. You can also use a colored concrete on the floor or grey garage floor paint and then seal it with a clear coat protector. This will help protect the floor from spills and make it easy for cleaning. After painting, leave the whole set up to dry giving it a minimum of 24 hours.
Step 5. Now it is time to put everything back in the garage when it might have dried up. Put things you use frequently where it can be accessed easily. All tools and auto-items must be prepared and stored in a separate place, preferably a cabinet. Label storage places with the name of what they contain like bins, drawers and cabinets. Sharp objects should be kept carefully keeping them out of the way and reachable. Gasoline, kerosene and other fluid and liquids of such should be properly sealed and store in cabinets. Avoid exposing inflammable substances in the garage, you always have the option to go outside the garage, especially when you want to make a mixture or rather clear the garage of non-compatible substances and use it.
Step 6: After using anything, put it back in the place you collected it. This will help you maintain a clean garage.
